With summer just a week away, its time to start thinking about opening up the windows and welcoming the new season with a deep home clean. Sound daunting? Don’t worry! Pura Vida Cleaning has some tips, tricks and product suggestions to help make your summer clean as painless as possible.

Norwex is a fantastic company due to their variety of easy-to-use products. For instance, the Window and Enviro Cloth is a great combo for cleaning windows without the use of harsh smelling cleaners. Simply wipe your windows with a wet Enviro Cloth, wipe again with a dry Window Cloth and watch your windows shine.

If you’ve been looking for a product that will leave your sinks and stovetops sparkling, look no further. Cleaning Paste by Norwex is an amazing product that cuts through grease and grime like it’s nothing. Not only that, Cleaning Paste is natural and environmentally safe.

Descaler by Norwex is what I recommend for bathroom cleaning (especially for showers). It’s great at cutting through soap residue and calcium, lime and rust deposits. To use the Descaler, simply spray, rinse and dry.

*Make sure you do not use Descaler on natural stone*

Anyone with children or pets knows that stains are a part of everyday life. Thankfully, there is a product called Pink Solution that works wonders. All you have to do is rub a small amount into the stain, pour boiling water over top and watch as your stain disappears.

Lastly, I’m excited to share a new product that I’ve come across called the Amazing Whip-It. A stain remover and cleaner, this product has multiple uses. Try using the Amazing Whip-It to clean your microwave – spray, leave and wipe. It’s that easy!

General Summer Cleaning Tips:

  • Q-tips are a handy tool to get into those tight corners that collect dust and grime.

  • Try sprinkling baking soda in the bottom of your trashcans to prevent odors from spreading throughout your home.

  • To clean your blinds, simply mix equal parts of water and vinegar.

  • Have mildew in your dishwasher? Run an empty load with detergent and hot water. Once complete, leave the door ajar to allow adequate drying and air circulation.

  • When dealing with pests such as ants and spiders, try making a spray consisting of water and multiple drops of peppermint essential oil. If you do not have essential oils on hand, a white vinegar spray and soapy sponge will help remove the pests’ scent from your home, encouraging others to stay away.
